No indication of foul play have been found in the death of an ASU student, found Saturday morning in the waters of Kraut Creek in Durham Park on campus.  ASU officials identified the body late Saturday as Tyler Blalock, age19, from Charlotte, found face down in the creek in the Durham Park area just before 8am, according to a university release. Sunday afternoon, ASU issued a second release, saying that the “University Police investigation findings are consistent with the medical examiner's results. There are no indications of any foul play. The evidence collected during the investigation confirms that Blalock was alone when he slipped on the edge of the creek and struck his head on some rocks as he fell into the water.” It goes on to say, “The Appalachian State University community is saddened by the death of student Tyler Blalock. Blalock’s body was found after a passerby reported a body in the creek that runs through Durham Park near the corner of Rivers and Hardin streets. University Police, Boone Police, and Watauga Medics responded to the call.”
