Beacon Replacement to Take AM's Off Air Briefly PDF Print

Tower beacons, the lights on broadcast and other FCC licensed towers, will be replaced today on the three AM stations of High Country Radio.  The work will necessitate the stations being off the air while the work is done, but those involved say that should only be for short times.

WECR-AM, WXIT-AM, and WATA will all be down for the work for times during the afternoon, so if you don't hear your favorite programming, that is probably why.  The beacons are required as a warning for air traffic.
