The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (2-4-2) held off a late rally and won for the first time since the season opener with a 4-3 victory over Queens (4-3) Monday evening at the Moretz Sports -

Athletic Complex. Four different players scored for the Bears while senior midfielder Mehmet Karakilinc (Lanester, FRANCE) added a pair of assists to lift Lenoir-Rhyne to the victory.
Queens, which tried to rally from a 4-1 deficit, got a pair of goals from Gersi Cilingiri (Jacksonville, Fla.) in the losing effort.
L-R got on the board just 12:07 into the contest when sophomore defender Conor Doherty (Howell, N.J.) scored with a shot over the keeper and into the top left corner of the net on a pass from Karakilinc.
After Cilingiri tied the score at one in the 15th minute, Lenoir-Rhyne reeled off three straight goals to take control.
Sophomore defender Caolan Cullen (Dublin, IRELAND) scored what would prove to be the game-winner at the 20:07 mark of the first half after heading the ball into the net off a saved free kick.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman forward Tobias Tobrant (Boras, SWEDEN) also tallied his team-leading fourth goal of the year as the Bears built a 4-2 lead entering the break.
Queens' Kevin Anderson (Mooresville, N.C.) scored the only goal in the second half in the 69th minute but L-R was able to hold on for the win.
Sophomore forward Mario Pinos Garcia (Guayaquil, ECUADOR) also scored for the Bears while junior goalkeeper Stefan Dill (Southampton, BERMUDA) picked up the victory in goal as he stopped two shots on the evening.
Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Newberry, S.C., to face Newberry on Saturday in a South Atlantic Conference contest beginning at 4:30 p.m. Queens, meanwhile, plays Mount Olive on the road in a Conference Carolinas match on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., in Mount Olive, N.C.
