Pioneers Swept In 'Tri-Match PDF Print

The Watauga High volleyball team took it on the chin Saturday. The Pioneers (12-4) dropped a pair of matches to Pfafftown-Reagan and Southern Alamance. WHS was swept by the Raiders, 24-26, 22-25, 17-25; the Pioneers dropped

a five-game match to Southern Alamance, 14-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-20, 12-15.
Kristen Carter had 54 assists and three service aces on the day. Channing Hagaman had 31 kills, three blocks and six aces; sophomore Sarah Combs had 21 assists against Southern Alamance; Rebecca Hayes had 29 kills, six blocks and three aces; Kierston McClannon had seven kills in the Pfafftown-Reagan match. The Pioneers (6-0 Northwestern 3A/4A Conference) return to league play Tuesday night when St. Stephens comes to town for a 5 p.m. match.
