Jackson Named All-Tournament PDF Print

Appalachian State pitcher Tyler Jackson, who graduated from Starmount High, was named to the 2012 All-Tournament Team by the Carolina-Virginia Summer Collegiate League Association. Jackson pitched for the Kernersville Bulldogs

this summer. Jackson, a senior left hander, has appeared in 15 games with 13 starts as a freshman, But he has only appeared in seven games over the past two years, allowing just one hit in two relief appearances last season.
Jackson, a nursing major, appeared in 11 games for the Bulldogs this summer. He was 4-2 with 13 earned runs allowed and 50 strikeouts in 38 innings. He had a 3.03 earned-run-average. Jackson was 17-3 in his last two years at Starmount with 261 strikeouts during that stretch. He threw a perfect game against Surry Central and struck out 20 men his senior year.
