Senior Ryder Jones and sophomore Utah Jones of Watauga High were by Impactbaseball.com invited to play in the Futures Games at UNC-Chapel Hill

on Saturday.  Jones (Watauga HS) had an outstanding day on the offensive and defensive side of the ball and was crowed MVP of the 2015 "American" vs. MVP "National" game.
The 6th Annual IMPACT "Futures Game" was hosted in Chapel Hill at the University of North Carolina on Saturday, August 25th. The event had a new twist featuring two games; the Seniors/2013 grads taking on the Juniors/2014 grads and two teams of Sophomores/2015 grads went head to head.
The event's first game was highlighted by several outstanding athletes on the field in front of numerous professional scouts and top colleges including: U. of South Carolina, U. of North Carolina, Clemson, NC State, Duke, East Carolina, and the list goes on and on.
2014 graduate, and High Point Christian standout outfielder Levi Gessel (pictured with IMPACT's Ryan Falcon) was named MVP of the 2013 vs. 2014 game after driving in 3 runs on a bases clearing double to the gap, and making the catch of the day in centerfield ranging to his left and tracking down a ball that most felt was a sure double. The right-handed hitting specialist was a couple feet away from also having a homerun in the game when his towering shot down the left-field line hooked just foul.
2013 graduate, and SW Guilford high school standout Matt Orth (UNC commit) was named the game's Most Valuable Pitcher tossing 2 outstanding shutout innings.
