Former Elon University men’s soccer standout and current Carolina RailHawks midfielder Nick Millington was recently selected to play for the Guyana national team. Millington recently played an

international friendly for Guyana against Bolivia, clocking 80 minutes in front of over 25,000 fans. Despite dropping a 2-0 decision to Bolivia, Millington says was an experience he’ll never forget.
Millington will earn his first official FIFA international cap on September 7 when Guyana faces El Salvador on the road in a World Cup qualifying match. Guyana will host El Salvador on September 11 before hosting Mexico on October 12.
A native of Raleigh N.C., Millington has experience on the international stage as a member of the United States U-17 and U-18 Men’s National Teams. Millington’s father was born in Guyana, giving him eligibility to play for the Guyana national team.
In his final season at Elon, Millington helped the Phoenix to the 2011
Southern Conference Tournament title and the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance. He was named the SoCon Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after tallying two assists and a goal during Elon’s championship run.
