'Dads Win Fourth Straight PDF Print

The Hickory Crawdads won their fourth consecutive game with a 5-1 victory against the Rome Braves at L.P. Frans Stadium Monday night.  With the win, the 'Dads move within just a half game behind the Hagerstown Suns for first place in the Northern Division Second Half Standings. After the Braves (35-20, 53-72) jumped in front with an unearned run in

the top of the first, the Crawdads (32-25, 68-58) tied things up in the bottom of the first. Luis Sardinas led off with a line drive sindng Sardinas with tying run.
The 'Dads moved in front for good with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Alejandro Selen and Kellin Deglan started the inning with consecutive singles; both men advanced to second and third on a ground-ball out. moving up ninety feet on a groundout. A walk and a loaded the bases, and with two down, Rougned Odor chopped a two-run single up the middle that scored two runs and gave the 'Dads a 3-1 lead.
An RBI double by in the fourth by Sardinas made it 4-1; and a run-scoring single by Drew Robinson in the fifth closed out the scoring. Andrew Faulkner (5-4) went six innings and picked up the win. He gave up one run, unearned, on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Victor Payano came on in relief in the seventh and picked up his first save.

The FUN continues with game two of the series against the Rome Braves on Tuesday at 7 p.m....Tuesday is Dollar Day, presented by 1290 WHKY.
