The Hickory Crawdads survived a one-hour, 57-minute rain delay Monday night, but they were victimized by the Greenville Drive in a 3-0 loss at Fluor Field in Greenville. Winning pitcher Miquel Pena (6-5) and three relievers combined on the five-hit shutout. Despite the loss, the Crawdads (24-21; 60-54) remain a game out of first place in the North Division of the

South Atlantic League. The Drive (22-22, 56-58) scored the only run it needed in the bottom of the second inning. David Renfroe led off the frame with a solo home run for a 1-0 lead. The Drive added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.
With two men on and two outs, Bryan Johns ripped a two-run single up the middle that gave Greenville a 3-0 lead. Jerad Eickhoff (11-6) suffered the loss. He gave up an earned run on three hits in five innings. Trever Adams was Hickory's most productive hitter going 3-4 with a double.
