Chris Grayson helped the Hickory Crawdads salvage a split of their four-game series with the Kannapolis Intimidators. His run-scoring single in the bottom of the 11th inning handed the Crawdads a 4-3 win. And with the win, the Crawdads (22-19; 58-52) remain a full game behind the Hagerstown Suns for first place in the North Division of the South Atlantic

League standings. The Crawdads also find themselves in a three-way tie for second place with Lakewood and West Virginia.
The BlueClaws blanked Delmarva, 10-0; Hagerstown hung on to beat the Power 9-7 in a battle for first place. Zach Cone got thing started with a lead-off double down the left field line to start the inning, He moved to third on a double to right field by Alejandro Selen. With runners on second and third, Grayson ripped an RBI single to right field scoring Cone with the winning run.
Grayson led the Crawdads going 3-5 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI; Cone had two hits, a double and a run scored; and Trever Adams homered and drove in two runs. The Crawdads took an early 2-0 lead thanks to solo home runs by Grayson in the first inning, and Adams in the second. But the Intimidators tied it up with a run-scoring single by Chris Curley and and a passed ball that allowed Mark Haddow to score the tying run in the third inning.
The Crawdads moved back in front in the bottom of the fourth. Grayson led off with a triple to right-center field and quickly darted home on an RBI double by Jorge Alfaro making it 3-2; but the Intimidators tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh inning. Kyle Robinson evened things up with a solo home run over the left-field wall for a 3-3 tie.
Will Lamb got the starting nod and gave up two runs, one earned, in five-plus innings with eight strikeouts. Jose Monegro picked up the win with a scoreless inning in the 11th. He also had a pair of strikeouts.
