The North Carolina Coaches Association has released its list of all-star coaches for the 2012-13 season, and among the selections are four regional coaches. Head coach Shane Laws of A.C. Reynolds High has been named the head coach of the West All-Stars in the 65th Annual East-West Senior All-Star Football Game in Greensboro in July of 2013. Alex Fox

of Watauga and Alex Villanueva of Avery (and a walk on at Appalachian State University) played for the West this season. Avery coach Darrell Brewer was an assistant coach for the West. The East beat the West 35-9 this season, but the West leads the all-time series 37-26-1.
Head coach Butch Carter of South Caldwell will be an assistant coach for the West next July. Carter led the Spartans to 11-2 season in 2011 and its first conference championship since 1994. Rob Bliss has been named the head coach for the West All-Stars in the 65th Annual East-West Senior All-Star Men's Basketball Game in Greensboro in July of 2013. Bliss, who had a successful run during his stay at East Burke before he left for West Henderson, led Fred T. Foard, a doormat in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference, to 13 wins and a berth in the Class 3A state playoffs. The West owns a 33-31 lead in the series.
Amber Fox, who led Freedom to a 17-7 record and the second-round of the Class 3A Western Playoffs, will coach the West women in the 39th Annual East-West Senior Women's All-Star Basketball Game in July of 2013. The East leads the all-time series 20-18. The West won this year's game, 82-65. Laura Foster of Ashe County coached the West women; Paige Love of Wilkes Central, who will attend UNC-Asheville this fall, led the West with 15 points and was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
