The Augusta GreenJackets completed their three-gamd sweep of the Hickory Crawdads with a 7-1 win at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta on Sunday evening. The loss leaves Hickory (20-17; 56-50) two games behind the Hagerstown Suns for first place in the North Division of the South Atlantic League, and a game behind West Virginia for second place.
The Suns defeated Lexington 6-0 on Sunday; West Virginia knocked off Lakewood, 4-1. The GreenJackets, who snapped a five-game slide thanks to the Crawdads coming to town, grabbed a 6-0 lead by the fifth inning. Devin Harris highlighted a four-run rally in the fifth with a three-run dowble. Jose Flores had two doubles and drove in two runs for the GreenJackets. Chris Grayson drove in Hickory's only run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth. Andy Faulkner (3-4) suffered the loss. He gave up five runs, three earned with four walks in four-plus innings. Winning pitcher Paul Davis (5-4) tossed seven scoreless innings to pick up his fifth victory of the year.
