|Tewell Stepping Up For Braves|

Tyler Tewell seems to have settled in with the Gulf Coast League Braves of the Rookie Gulf Coast League. Tewell, who played at Appalachian State University, has rebounded from a slow start in his professional career. Tewell had two more hits Monday night for the Braves and he's batting .345 for the Braves in 13 games. Tewell was taken by the
Atlanta Braves in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball Draft....And his former teammate, Ryan Arrowood, who is playing for the Tri City Dust Devils, the Class A Northwest League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, lowered his earned-run-average to 0.95 Monday night with two scoreless innings in relief. Arrowood gave up two hits, walked one and struck out four.....The Caldwell County Post 29 American Legion baseball team had its game against the Gaston Braves rained out Monday night in Belmont, N.C. They will make up the game tonight at 7 p.m. Caldwell County owns a 1-0 lead in that best-of-five Area IV semifinal series....And it was a tough night for the Watauga Little League All-Star teams on Monday night. The Watauga Juniors were elminiated by Wilkes County in game two of their best-of-three series by a 10-0 score; the Watauga 11-and-12 year-old team was eliminated by Morganton 12-0 in five innings.
