It hasn't taken former Appalachian State University pitcher Ryan Arrowood very long to establish himself at the professional level. In just five games with his new team, the Tri City Dust Devils of the Class A Northwest League (a minor league affiliate of the Colorado Rockies), Arrowood has put

up some impressive numbers.  And the right hander, who set numerous records during his four-year stay with the Mountaineers, finally cracked the win column Sunday night. Arrowood (1-0) picked up his first professional win against the Spokane Indians in a 5-4 win. Arrowoodm, who was selected in the 28th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Rockies, went 2 1/3 innings, gave up no runs, no hits, he didn't walk anyone and he had four strikeouts.
For the year, Arrowood, who has made five appearances including three starts, has given up two earned runs in 17 innings on ten hits with four walks and 13 strikeouts for a 1.06 earned-run-average. Opponents are only hitting .172 against him.
