'Dads Wrap Up Road Trip On Winning Note PDF Print

The Hickory Crawdads blasted three home runs en route to the 7-6 come-from-behind win against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park on Tuesday night.  Hickory takes four out of five against Greensboro, and the 'Dads go 7-2 on their nine-game road trip. Hickory also remains in 1st place in the Northern Division of the South

Atlantic League with a two-game lead on the Lakewood BlueClaws and a three-game advantage on the Hagerstown Suns. And for the second night in a row, the 'Dads had to come from behind. Hickory (10-3; 46-36) rallied from an early 5-0 deficit; Hickory began chipping away in the top of the third inning. With one out, SRougned Odor walked and Drew Robinson followed with a two-run homer to get the 'Dads on the board. Trailing 5-2, the Crawdads completed the comeback with three runs in the top of the fourth. Kellin Deglan hammered a one-out double down the right-field line before Jorge Alfaro reached on an error to put runners at first and third.  One out later, Jhonny Gomz tied it with a three-run homer to left field tying the game at 5-5
The 'Dads kept swinging away as they grabbed their first lead of the game in the top of the fifth. Alejandro Selen was hit by a pitch with one away; Tever Adams then hit Hickory's third home run of the game, this one a two-run shot over the right-field fence that gave the 'Dads a 7-5 lead. John Schultz of Greensboro (5-8, 51-32) countered with a solo home run in the fifth, but from there, the Hickory bullpen tossed four scoreless inning to settle the issue.  Andrew Faulkner gave up a hit with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings in relief; Phil Klein picked up his fifth save with 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Jerad Eickhoff (10-4) picked up his tenth win of the year. He gave up six runs, but only three were earned. The 'Dads made four errors behind him. Gomez had two hits, including a home run and he drove in three runs; Adams had two hits, including a home run and two RBI; Robinson homered and drove in two runs.
