It hasn't taken Jeremy Dowdy long to raise some eyebrows in the Chicago White Sox organization. Dowdy, who played at Appalachian State University, has been promoted from the Bristol (Va.) White Sox of the Rookie Appalachian League to the Winston-Salem Dash of the Class A Advanced Carolina League. Dowdy, who signed a free-agent contract with

the White Sox after he wasn't selected in the Major League Baseball Draft, has been on fire of late.  He had three hits and threw out a base runner Sunday night against the Johnson City (TN.) Cardinals. In five games at Bristol, Dowdy was batting .412 with two doubles, a triple and three runs-batted-in; he had a .450 on-base percentage and a .647 slugging percentage. He was 0-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in his final game with Bristol, a 4-3 win against Johnson city, Monday night.
