Kelly Joins ASU Volleyball PDF Print

Appalachian State University volleyball head coach Matt Ginipro has announced another addition to his team for the upcoming 2012 season as Stephanie Kelly (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) will join the Mountaineers.
“Stephanie is a great late addition to our 2012 roster,” said Ginipro. “We wanted to solidify our ball control group and

were lucky enough to receive an email from Stephanie saying that she would be an incoming student at Appalachian. I had the opportunity to see her play and knew she would have the ability to help us out as a talented defensive specialist.
“Stephanie is a hard worker and has the desire to help make this team better. She will fit in nicely with Courtney Rhein and Meghan Mahoney to form a great group of players in charge of our defense and serve receive.”
As a high school player, Kelly garnered all-state, all-region and all-district honors while earning MVP honors at Forest Park. She averaged 3.12 kills, 7.07 digs and 24 assists per match while helping the Bruins to a 23-6 record as a senior, including an 11-1 mark in league play.
Appalachian State opens the 2012 campaign at the JMU Days Inn Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va. from Aug. 24-25 with matches against James Madison, Seton Hall and Minnesota.
