It really didn't go the way they expected. Marques Murrell and Ed Gainey, who played at Appalachian State University, made their Canadian Football League debut with the Montreal Alouettes Sunday afternoon at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta, in a 38-10 season-opening loss to the Stampeders. Murrell and Gainey did not play in Sunday's lopsided loss.
Ameet Pall, who played at Wofford College and was signed by the Als last Monday, is on the injuried list. He suffered a foot injury in Calgary's last pre-season game on June 22 before he was cut by the Stamps. The Als (0-1) entertain Winnipeg (0-1) at Molson Field Friday night.
