The Southern Conference has ended its partnerships with public television stations to show league sporting events. The deal only lasted one season. Now, the SoCon's only deal is with ESPN3.com. Last summer, SoCon

Commissioner John Iamarino announced the league had a three-year deal with public television systems in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as an agreement with ESPN3 for games to be shown online. But coverage was extremely limited in the Tennessee and Alabama markets concerning Chattanooga and Samford.
Iamarino said the SoCon wanted its games televised statewide in all five states within the league's configuration, and if that didn't happen, Iamarino said the league would move forward without a TV deal.
In May the SoCon announced an enhanced agreement with ESPN3 to provide coverage for a minimum of 40 exclusive events to be shown in each of the next three years. Eight SoCon football games will be shown this fall, as well as numerous other events, including the men's basketball tournament, and the the semifinals and the championship game of the women's basketball tournament. The men's basketball tournament championship game will be shown on ESPN or ESPN2.
