ASU MAKES OFFER TO DANTE JONES PDF Print

The Appalachian State University footall team has made a scholarship offer to wide receiver Dante Jones, a rising senior at Southeast Raleigh High. Jones is 5-foot-10 and weighs 172 pounds, and he has 4.66 speed in the 40-yard

dash. Jones, who is primarily a slot receiver according to Rivals.com, has been ranked among the top 100 elite players in the state of North Carolina by Rivals.com.
Jones, who has also received an offer from Duke, caught 37 passes for 738 yards and nine touchdowns last season, which includes a 99-yard reception, as a junior. He also ran for 116 yards and scored two touchdowns. Defensively, he made 116 tackles and he also returned kick-offs and punts. East Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and North Carolina have also expressed an interest in Jones.

 


SHADOIN MAKES NAMED ALL-STATE CHEERLEADER

 


Maggie Shadoin of Avery High is one of nine cheerleaders from western North Carolina to be selected to the North Carolina Cheerleading Coaches Association All-State Team. Shadoin will get to cheer at the East-West All-Star Games in Greensboro in July.
