The St. Louis Rams, a laughing stock in the National Football League in recent years, are taking some serious steps toward respectability, especially since Jeff Fisher took over as head coach. And the Rams, who have had problems signing draft choices in past years, have all ready inked
eight of their ten picks this season. The most recent one to sign is wide receiver Brian Quick.
Quick, the all-time leading receiver in Appalachian State history, signed a four-year rookie contract on Thursday that should pay him around $5.4 million dollars. Quick is the first of three remaining draft picks to sign with the team. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins (taken in the second round) and cornerback Trumaine Johnson (a third-round pick) remained unsigned. Quick was taken with the first pick (and the 33rd overall) in the second round of the NFL Draft in April. Quick will make his NFL debut on August 12 when the Rams take on the Colts in Indianapolis in their pre-season opener; the regular-season opener will be at Detroit against the Lions on September 9.
