Jacob Hoyle, who played at St. Stephens High, has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team. Hoyle threw a no-hitter against Watauga last season, but lost the game 1-0 in the opening-round of

the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference Tournament. Hoyle put together a stellar season at Western Carolina this spring.
He batted .308 with a .449 slugging percentage as a true freshman. He had 14 doubles and four home runs among his 57 hits. He also had 45 runs-batted-in (ranking him eighth in the Southern Conference in that category). Hoyle, who was slowed a bit by an oblique strain at mid-season, was also a second-team All-SoCon selection.
