WHS Soccer Has Six All-Region Selections PDF Print

The Watauga High men's and women's soccer teams were honored by the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Associtation as six players were named to the Class 4A, Region 11 team. For the men, goalkeeper Jeff Caldwell, forward

Zack Helms, and defenders Eli Murray and Justin Wolfe were named to the all-region team.
For the women, Emily Haas and Kendyl Baird were named the Region 11 team. Haas, a goalkeeper, was named WHS' Most Valuable Player this season. She played 20 games and made 165 saves. She was also an All-Northwestern 3A/4A Conference selection; Baird was WHS' Offensive Player of the Year, an All-NW3A/4A selection, and she paced the Pioneers with a team-high 15 goals and five assists. Baird will attend King College, a Division II school in Bristol, TN., and a member of Conference Carolinas, where she will play soccer next fall.
