Georgia Southern's Victor Roache (Ypsilanti, Mich.) became the fifth Eagle drafted in the first round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft after being selected 28th overall by the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night. Roache
missed all but six games of the 2012 season with a wrist injury but still became the first GSU player drafted in the opening round since Joey Hamilton was selected 8th overall in 1991. The junior outfielder is also the highest-ever selection among current Southern Conference schools while they were a league member, surpassing The Citadel's Asher Wojciechowski, who went 41st overall in 2010.
