Bumgarner Impressive Against Cubs PDF Print

Madison Bumgarner snapped his personal three-game losing streak Friday night against the Chicago Cubs at AT&T Park. Bumgarner went eight innings and struck out 11 in a 4-3 win. He didn't walk anyone and he gave up eight hits. It was Bumgarner's (6-4) first win since May 5, when he defeated Milwaukee. And the 11 strikeouts were a season high,

exceeding his ten-strikeout performance against the Brewers on May 21. Bumgarner had a no-decision in that game.
Bumgarner was winless in his last four appearances (three losses and a no-decision). Bumgarner also lowered his earned-run-average at 3.04. Bumgarner is scheduled to pitch Wednesday night at San Diego. The Giants (29-24), who defeated the Cubs 2-1 on Saturday. They begin the day in second place in the National League West, four games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.
