Watauga Junior American Legion coach Bradley Rudisill has announced that the McDowell game rained out last Thursday, May 24 will be made up Monday, June 4 at Watauga-High Field at 6 p.m. Watauga (0-2) entertains Alexander County Friday night in its home opener at 5 p.m. Also, Rudisill has announced that pitcher Tripp Taylor will be out for about three weeks

following a medical procedure he will have done on Wednesday morning at the Watauga Medical Center.
"Tripp is a tough kid," Rudisill said. "He's been playing with this problem for a while now, and he's battle through it. He thought he could get through the season, but he needs to have this procedure. It hurts not having a guy like him on the mound. I'm down to four or five pitchers, and with all the games being double headers, it doesn't give me a lot of depth. But we hope to get him back late in the year."
Taylor turned in a strong season for the Watauga High baseball team. He made six appearances and two starts. He was 2-2 with a 4.52 earned-run-average in 17 innings. He lost his only decision with the American Legion team last Friday night against McDowell. He went four innings in a 4-0 loss. He had eight strikeouts and all the runs were unearned.
