Corey Lynch, who was a three-time All-America at Appalachian State University, has was signed today by the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League as an unrestricted free agent. Lynch, who is well remembered for blocking a would-be winning field goal attempt (by Jason Gingell) against the

University of Michigan in 2007, has played four years in the NFL. Thanks to that play, ASU pulled off one of the greatest upsets in college football that day by downing the fifth-ranked Wolverines, 34-32.
Lynch, who has played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cincinnati Bengals, has 72 career tackles and three intercpetions. He made 25 stops with an interception playing for Tampa Bay last season. Lynch was a sixth-round choice (177th pick)  of the Bengals in the 2008 NFL Draft.
