Lenoir-Rhyne's Kate Griewisch earned her second All-American honor in three days after finishing fourth out of 18 runners in the women's 5,000-meter finals at the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships Saturday night at the Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl. Griewisch, a senior from Banner Elk, N.C., ran a 17:53.51 while Adams

State's Kristen McGlynn won the race with a time of 17:46.05. The top eight finishers in each track and field event garner All-American accolades. On Thursday night, Griewisch placed third overall out of 16 competitors in the women's 10,000-meter finals as she ran the event in 35:04.60. It marks the second straight year Griewisch was honored as an All-American in the 10K race. Last year, she finished sixth in the event.
Griewisch concludes her collegiate career at Lenoir-Rhyne with seven NCAA Division II All-American honors in three sports.
Griewisch earned D-II All-American accolades three times in both women's cross country (2009-11) and outdoor track and field (2011-12) and once in indoor track and field (2012). Griewisch, who was named the 2012 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor Women's Track Athlete Of The Year for the Southeast Region, holds school records in the 1,500-meter (4:32), 5,000-meter (16:20) and 10,000-meter (33:44) runs.
Lenoir-Rhyne also finished 20th as a team out of 58 teams scoring. Grand Valley State won the national championship with a total of 90 points. Lincoln (Missouri) (79 points) was the team runner-up.
