The Asheville Tourists took a double header against the Hickory Crawdads on Saturday at McCormick Field in Asheville. The Tourists (26-15) won the opener 8-7 and they took the second game, 10-6. The double-dip loss also drops Hickory (19-20) a game under .500, and the Crawdads have lost seven in row. In the opener, the Tourists wiped an early 2-0 deficit. A two-

run shot by Drew Robinson in the of the first inning staked Hickory to that early advantage. But the Tourists responded with a five spot in the third. Will Swanner did most of the damage with a grand slam that gave the Tourists a 4-2 lead. After the Tourists added another run that made it 5-2, the 'Dads inched back in the top of the fourth. Zach Cone reached on a two-out double and he scored on an RBI single by Jeremy Williams that made it 5-3. But the Tourists extended their lead with three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. David Kandilas had a two-run single, and Harold Riggins drove in a run with a base hit, making it 8-3.
Hickory staged a comeback with four runs in the sixth. Rougned Odor homered to lead off the inning, Williams doubled and scored on an RBI single by Kevin Torres that made it 8-5.  Grayson reached on a two-out single to keep the inning alive.  Torres and Grayson both advanced to second and third on a passed ball and they scored on a throwing error by shortstop by Rosell Herrera as he tried to cut down Luis Sardinas at first base. That made it 8-7, but Asheville got out of the inning and Jefri Hernandez picked up his second save by retiring the Crawdads in order in the seventh.
It was much the same story in the second game. The Crawdads jumped in front in the top of the first inning, Hanser Alberto belted a solo home run, Zach Cone singled to extend the inning for Rougned Odor, who rocketed an RBI double off the right-field wall to score Cone. Jeremy Williams followed with an RBI infield single, bringing in Odor for the 3-0 lead.
But Asheville responded with six runs of its own in the bottom of the first, and the Crawdads aided the rally by committing two errors. The Tourists made five hits in the frame. A Sam Mende home run in the second inning gave Asheville a 7-3 lead. But Hickory responded in the third on a two-run shot by Robinson (his second home run of the game) that made it 7-5.
A solo home run by Delta Cleary, Jr., in the bottom of the fourth made it 8-5.  But the Crawdads picked up a run in the sixth to make it 8-6. Cone doubled to start the inning, moved to third on a grounder by Odor, and he scored on Williams' sacrifice fly.
But the Tourists put the game out of reach with a pair or runs in the bottom of the sixth. An RBI double by Trevor Story and an RBI single by Harold Riggins gave Asheville a 10-6 lead going into the seventh inning.
