Riddle Signs With Alouettes PDF Print

Former Elon University quarterback Scott Riddle, the all-time passing leader in Southern Conference historyh, has signed a professional contract with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. Riddle led the SoCon in passing yardage in all four year stay with the Phoenix from 2007-10. He also holds 41 NCAA, SoCon or Elon records. His 13,264 passing

yards are the fifth-highest total by an FCS quarterback.Offensive lineman Rodney Austin and linebacker Joshua Jones, who played at Elon last season, have signed professional contracts with the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League.




Quarterback Thomas Wilson of Elon University has been listed among the top ten quarterbacks to watch in the Football Championship Series by The Sports Network. Wilson threw for 3,057 yards and 23 touchdowns last season. But he also threw 21 interceptions. The Phoenix were 5-6 last season; 3-5 in the Southern Conference.....And former SMU quarterback Kyle Padron is expected to enroll at Eastern Washington. He would replace last year's Walter Payton Award winner Bo Levi Mitchell, who graduated and has signed a professional contract with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL. Ironically, Padron replaced Mitchell at SMU when he transferred to Eastern Washington in 2009.
