Pioneers-Rams Rained Out PDF Print

Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that today game's second-round state playoff game between the Pioneers (16-8) and T.C. Roberson (25-2) has been rained out. The game will be played on Wednesday at

7 p.m. Our coverage begins at 6:25 p.m. on Oldies 100.7 FM.
The winner of this game between the Pioneers and the Rams, who are ranked No.1 in Class 4A by ImpactBaseball.com and nationally ranked by MaxPreps.com, will play either Lake Norman (14-9), the No.5 seed from the I-Meck Conference, or Mallard Creek (17-8), the No.1 seed from the I-Meck Conference, Friday night.
If WHS wins, and Lake Norman advances, the Pioneers will be at home; if Mallard Creek wins, the Pioneers will be on the road.
NOTES: The Rams are ranked 45th this week in the MaxPreps.com Xcellent 25 National Baseball Rankings......Matt Proffitt (6-2 with two saves) is the scheduled starter for WHS on Wednesday night. Proffitt is 1-1 in post-season play this season.....The Rams haven't lost a home game since 2010.....TCR is riding a 15-game winning streak. The Rams haven't lost since a 4-3 setback against Cornelius-Hough on April 3.
