Pall Taken By Calgary In CFL Draft PDF Print

Wofford defensive lineman Ameet Pall was selected fifth overall in the 2012 Canadian Football League Draft by the Calgary Stampeders. Pall was the second defensive lineman selected in the draft held on Thursday, May 3. Pall, a

senior from Montreal, Quebec, was named the 2011 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year team by the Southern Conference coaches. He finished the season with 32 total tackles, along with eight tackles for loss and three sacks. Pall was named to the All-Southern Conference second team.
He was named the 2010 Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year team by the league’s coaches as Pall lead the league in sacks and tackles for loss. He finished second in the voting for the 2010 Buck Buchanan Award, the highest finish ever by a Wofford player. He earned All-America honors from four different organizations, including the Associated Press.
In his career, he is fifth in school history with 45 career tackles for loss and third in career sacks with 23.0. He also recovered five fumbles in his career, which is tied for third in school history. Pall played in 48 career games with 33 starts at Wofford. In 2010 the team won the Southern Conference Championship and in 2008, 2010 and 2011 played in the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
He will be joined in the CFL this season by former Wofford receiver Andy Strickland, who signed this spring with the Toronto Argonauts. In addition, Shawn Graves signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1993.
