Howards Commits To ASU PDF Print

Tuscola High senior Rob Howard has made a verbal commitment to play baseball at Appalachian State University. Howard is hitting .538 this season for a Tuscola team that haS nailed down its third consecutive Western North Carolina Conference championship. Howard has been a versatile player for the Mountaineers (17-5 this season) during his prep career. He is

an infielder, an outfielder and he's also been a pitcher by trade. Howard was 8-2 with a 3.27 earned-run-average last season. This season, Howard has two home runs with 22 runs-batted-in in 21 games. Tuscola, a No.1 seed from the WNC, will open the Class 3A state playoffs Friday night at home against Forestview.
