Well, it looks like Watauga High junior Tyler Jones won't be on his own at the North Carolina State Games in late June. He'll be joined at the StateĀ Games by his head coach Pete Hardee, who will be making his fifth appearance as an

assistant coach. He's also been an assistant coach in the East-West Senior All-Star Game on two occasions.
"It's an honor to be selected," Hardee said. "It gives you a chance to work with different people, and it give you a chance to work with some great players. It's a lot of fun to do this."
Both Hardee and Jones will represent the Pioneers on the Region 7 All-Star team. Jeff Burchett of Mooresville will be the head coach; Mike Herndon of Davie County and Robert Little of Lake Norman will join Hardee as assistant coaches.
The North Carolina State Games for baseball will be played June 13-17. Region 7 opens competition against Region 1 at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem on June 13 at 4 p.m. Wake Forest and Kernersville-Glenn High School will host the baseball tournament. The finals will be played on Sunday, June 17. The medal games will be played at BB&T Ballpark; the consolation games will be played at Kernersville-Glenn.
