The Watauga High men's lacrosse team (5-6), which turned in its most successful season in school history this season, had seven players chosen to the District 9 All-Conference Team. And head coach Chris Wallace, now in his third season

with the program, was named the District 9 Coach of the Year.
"Our guys came a long way this season," Wallace said. "It was a great group of guys to work with. We had a lot of fun, and our program is starting to turn the corner."
Dominick Hamilton, Nick Williams, Adam Goetz and Andrew Lambert were first-team all-conference selections; Logan Fox and goaltender Brandon Michelsen were named to the second team; Canyon Mueller was named Honorable Mention.
The Pioneers were 4-2 in District 9 this season, finishing second to Patton, which defeated WHS 6-5 in Boone on April 24 to win the district championship.
Patton (9-3) lost to Lake Norman-Charter 21-0 in the opening round of the state playoffs Friday night.
