Former ETSU standout Jenna Caudle (Middletown, Md./Middletown) has been signed as a member of Appalachian State University women's soccer, announced head coach Sarah Strickland on Friday. Caudle joins the Mountaineers and
is eligible to compete as a sophomore this fall.
"Jenna is a big addition to our program," remarked Strickland. "We're very excited to have her."
The Middletown, Md. native scored 10 goals—including a score in six of her first seven appearances—and tallied one assist for the Buccaneers last season.
Caudle was named the Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year and was a unanimous selection on the A-Sun Freshman all-Conference team. She was the only freshman named first-team all-Atlantic Sun and was later tabbed to the NSCAA/Continental Tire all-Southeast Region third-team.
In addition to her collegiate honors, Caudle racked up countless awards during her high-school years. During her senior season, she earned NSCAA all-American accolades as a member of her state-champion Middletown H.S. squad. The three-time first-team all-conference selection also excelled in track & field as a member of her 2007-08 state-champion team.
Caudle comes to Appalachian and joins both of her sisters as members of the Mountaineer student-athlete community.
"The Caudle family has a history of successful ASU student-athletes," continued Strickland. "We're looking forward to adding another Caudle to that group."
Tyler Caudle was a member of the Appalachian track & field team in 2000-01. A two-time all-SoCon honoree, Brittney Caudle was the 2009 Southern Conference women's cross country Runner of the Year and Freshman of the Year after taking first place at the SoCon Championship.
Jenna Caudle and the Mountaineers begin their pursuit of a Southern Conference championship in August. Full schedule details will be posted at GoASU.com when they are finalized.
