The Football Championship Subdivision playoffs could expand to 24 teams by 2013. The proposal is being reviewed by the NCAA finance committee, and once it goes

beyond this stage, it will be passed on to the NCAA executive committee for possible approval. The NCAA will make a formal decision in August.
The FCS playoffs will remain at 20 teams for this coming season. The FCS expanded from 16 to 20 teams three years ago.
