Bears Softball Earns Seventh Straight NCAA Berth PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team punched its ticket to the 2012 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament and will play on the campus of Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Ga. Lenoir-Rhyne (46-11), the third

seed in the tournament, will face sixth-seeded and South Atlantic Conference-rival Catawba (33-17) on Friday at Noon.
Armstrong Atlantic State (44-9), the second seed and host school, plays No. 7 Flagler (34-17) on Friday at 2:30 p.m., in the other contest.
Top-seeded North Georgia (45-8) hosts the other half of the Southeast Regional Tournament in Dahlonega, Ga.
That bracket includes No. 4 Augusta State (31-16), No. 5 Columbus State (39-18) and eighth-seeded King (Tenn.) (34-17).
Lenoir-Rhyne has earned its seventh straight berth to the playoffs and eighth overall in school history.
L-R is also ranked No. 21 in the nation and won both the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the third straight year in 2012. The Bears are 24-2 in their last 26 contests as well.
The winners of the regional tournament will meet in the Super Regionals on May 11-12. The 2012 NCAA Division II Women's College World Series will take place on May 16-19 in Louisville, Ky.

Game Six (Championship): Game Three winner vs. Game Five winner, Noon
Game Seven (if necessary): 2:30 p.m.
