Chalk up another one for Madison Bumganer. The left hander from Hickory has won four straight decisions, and he's been a little more impressive each time out. Bumgarner (4-1), who owns a third of San Francisco's wins (the Giants are 12-10), went 7 2/3 innings on Sunday afternoon as the Giants defeated
the San Diego Padres 4-1 at AT&T Park.
Bumgarner gave up an earned run on six hits with six strikeouts. And Bumgarner has also lowered his earned-run-average to 2.53 this season. He's given up just nine earned runs in 32 innings. The win also moves San Francisco into sole possession of second place in the National League West, four games behind the pace-setting Los Angeles Dodgers, who led the NL West with a 16-6 record. Bumgarner is scheduled to start Saturday at home against the Milwaukee Brewers.
