The Hickory Crawdads split the series with the Greensboro Grasshoppers after falling, 9-3, on Friday night before 1,540 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium. A five-run rally by the Grasshoppers in the top of the second inning led to Hickory's downfall. Consecutive doubles by Josh Adams and James Wooster drove in two runs and gave

Greensboro a 2-1 lead. An RBI single by Brent Keys made it 3-1, and a two-run double by Austin Barnes closed out the scoring for the Grasshoppers.
A run-scoring single by Barnes in the fourth, a run-scoring single by Goetz in the sixth by Goetz and a solo home run by Senne in the seventh gave Greensboro a commanding 8-1 lead. Key's sacrifice fly in the eighth made it 9-1 in the top of the eighth.
Hanser Alberto had an RBI single for the Crawdads in the first inning; Drew Robinson had a two-run shot in the eighth. The teams split their four-game series right down the middle. The teams find themselves with identical 14-7 records and in a tie for first place in the North Division of the South Atlantic League. Charleston comes to town for a weekend series this weekend.
