Bumgarner Handcuffs Phils PDF Print

Madison Bumgarner proved to be a wise investment for the San Francisco Giants Tuesday night. The Hickory, N.C., native, who signed a five-year extention with the Giants on Monday ($35 million dollars of that salary was guaranteed), turned in a strong peformance against the Philadelphia Phillies at AT&T Park. The left hander went

six-plus innings and gave up two earned runs on seven hits as the Giants beat the Phillies. 4-2. Bumgarner (2-1) also had two strike outs. Bumgarner was a first round pick (tenth player selected overall) of the Giants in the Major League Baseball Draft in 2007.
