Hickory LF Jeremy Williams belted a pair of home runs, but the Asheville Tourists topped the Hickory Crawdads, 11-3, before 2,833 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Saturday evening. Williams jump-started the Crawdads (6-4) with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first against winning pitcher Ben Alsup of the Tourists for an early

2-0 lead. Hickory starter Santo Perez (0-1), who suffered the loss, kept Asheville scoreless through his first three innings of work. But the Tourists (6-4) finally broke through with six runs in the top of the fourth.  Two hit batsmen around a double loaded the bases to start the inning.  Tyler Massey, Ryan Casteel and Rosell Herrera then delivered three consecutive RBI singles that gave Asheville a 3-2 lead.
Jose Rivera brought in the fourth run with an RBI fielder's choice, followed by an RBI double from CDelta Cleary, Jr. The final blow came on aDavid Kandilas' sacrifice fly, making it 6-2.
Asheville kept swinging away in the top of the sixth against Nick Martinez. Casteel sparked the inning with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Rivera one out later.  After Cleary, Jr. walked, Kandilas belted a three-run homer over the left-field wall giving the Tourists a commanding 10-2 lead.
After the Tourists added an unearned run in the top of the ninth against Greg Williams, Jeremy Williams and the Crawdads struck again in the bottom of the ninth.  Williams led off the inning with his second home run of the game. Kevin Torres doubled, but Russell Brewer squelched the rally to end the game.
