Bears, Thackerson Win Aramark Intercollegiate PDF Print

The L-R Women's Golf Team shot a 701 (+125) to win the Aramark Intercollegiate which concluded Tuesday at the Etowah Valley Golf & Country Club. In addition, L-R senior Katie Thackerson (Earl, N.C.) was the top individual for the tournament after shooting a 158 (+14).

L-R, which was in third place after the first day, defeated North Greenville by three strokes on the par-72, 5,808-yard course.
Meanwhile, sophomore Grace Brahler (Lawrence, Kan.) finished fourth overall with a 172 (+28) and junior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) carded a 180 (+36) to place ninth after 36 holes of play.
On the men's side, L-R shot a 626 (+50) to place fourth out of seven teams while Walters State won the tournament with a 602 (+26) on the par-72, 7,012-yard course.
Brevard's Kim Koivu was the top men's player after carding a 145 (+1) while senior Sam Pressley (Knoxville, Tenn.) was the Bears' No. 1 golfer for the tournament. Pressley finished with a 152 (+8) to tie for fifth overall while L-R freshman Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.) tied for eighth with a 153 (+9).
Lenoir-Rhyne next hosts the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Golf Championship on Monday and Tuesday, April 16 and 17, at the Rock Barn Golf Club & Spa in Conover, N.C.
