Lenoir-Rhyne forced extra innings when senior second baseman Carlee Carpenter (Newton, N.C.) connected on a home run to lead off the seventh inning, her sixth round-tripper of the season.
Carpenter tallied a game-high three hits while senior catcher Sarah Atkins (Newport News, Va.) hit a solo home run for the Bears in the contest as well. Atkins is now tied for the team lead in home runs with 10.
Millwood (25-6) pitched seven scoreless innings en route to the win while Brevard's Alyssa Miller (Davie, Fla.) fell to 7-8 with the loss despite striking out 10 batters.
Brevard was led offensively in the game by Chelsi Mallory (Mechanicsville, Va.), who tallied a pair of hits and an RBI.
