Limestone Doubles Up Bears PDF Print

The Limestone College Baseball Team (12-25) handed Lenoir-Rhyne University (10-30) a 12-6 loss Wednesday night at Bears Field in a non-conference affair. Julian Bridges (Shelby, N.C.) was one of four Saints to finish with two runs batted in and added a

game-high three hits to lead Limestone to the win.
Lenoir-Rhyne junior outfielder Rai Robinson (Kings Mountain, N.C.) hit a two-run home run, his third round-tripper of the season, despite the loss.
Robinson's home run gave L-R a 4-3 advantage in the bottom of the third inning but Limestone took the lead for good with a three-run sixth inning. In the frame, the Saints' Michael Hughey (Gaffney, S.C.) connected on a two-run single which would prove to be the game-winner for Limestone.
Limestone was clinging to an 8-6 advantage before putting the contest away with four runs in the top of the ninth inning.
The Saints' Josh Cesario (Haymarket, Va.) (1-0) was credited with the win while Bear freshman Hunter Conley (Cornelius, N.C.) fell to 1-2 with the loss. L-R senior outfielder Stephan Arcieri (Roswell, Ga.) added two hits and drove in a run in the setback as well for the Bears.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday when the Bears face Mars Hill beginning at 6:00 p.m. Limestone hosts Mount Olive on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
