PIONEERS-TIGERS MOVING GAME TO NEWTON PDF Print
Written by Mike Kelly

Watauga High baseball coach Pete Hardee has announced that Monday night's scheduled game between the Pioneers and Fred T. Foard will be played in Newton. The reason for moving the game, heavy rains that doused the area this past weekend.
"The game is wash out up here," he said. "The field

took too much rain. We're moving down to Newton, where we have a great chance of getting it in."
The Pioneers and the Tigers were rained out Friday night. WHS beat the Tigers 11-5 in their first meeting down in Newton back on March 6. Matt Proffitt (2-1 with a save) gets the starting nod for the Pioneers.
WHS begins the night all alone in second place in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference; the Tigers have lost six of their last seven games. Our coverage begins at 6 p.m. on Oldies 100.7 FM.
