The Watuaga High basebakll team had its scheduled game with Fred T. Foard rained out Friday night. The contest will be made up Monday. The Pioneers, with the schedule change, will now play three games

in three days. They will play the Tigers Monday night, Hickory Tuesday night, and North Davidson in a non-conference game Wednesday night.
Matt Proffitt is scheduled to get the starting nod Monday night against Fred T. Foard, which has lost two in a row and six of its last seven game. Ethan Greene is the scheduled starter Tuesday against the Red Tornadoes.
Hickory, which is scheduled to play North Lincoln Saturday, has lost four of its last five games. Also, with the schedule change, Saturday's non-conference game with Ardrey Kell has been postponed for a third consecutive time. The teams were scheduled to play each other originially on March 3, and then again on March 17. But those games were postponed because of weather on March 3 and a scheduling conflict concerning the Knights on March 17.
Our coverage Monday night begins at 6 p.m. on Oldies 100.7 FM. Also, the WHS JV team will resume its game with Fred T. Foard Monday night. The teams will pick up right where they left off.
The game is tied 1-1 in the top of the third inning. The Tigers scored the tying run on a wild pitch, and when play resumes, they will have a runner at third with one out.
Jesse Illich scored WHS's only run as he led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple and scored on Carson Isaacs' sacrifice fly. The teams also endured a 20-minute lightning delay in the top of the first inning.
