ASU Swaps Home Dates with ETSU PDF Print

Appalachian State University and East Tennessee State have agreed to swap home dates for their upcoming home-and-home baseball series. Appalachian will now host ETSU next Tuesday, April 3 at 6 p.m. and travel to

Johnson City, Tenn. on Wednesday, May 2 to face the Bucs at 7 p.m. Moving next Tuesday’s contest to ASU’s Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium gives the Mountaineers an eight-game homestand. Appalachian (19-5, 7-2 SoCon) began the homestand with a 14-0 victory over North Carolina A&T on Wednesday that moved the Mountaineers to 12-0 at Smith Stadium this season.
The schedule change was precipitated by a delay in the installation of lights at ETSU’s new on-campus baseball facility, Thomas Stadium. ETSU expects that the installation will be complete in time for the May 2 ballgame between the two clubs.
Appalachian continues its two-week home stretch with a three-game series versus Oakland this weekend. The set begins on Saturday with a doubleheader slated for 1 p.m.
