Appalachian State University football invites fans to preview the 2012 Mountaineers during an open practice on Saturday, March 31 at Kidd Brewer Stadium. Saturday’s practice begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday’s

practice is the only opportunity for Black-and-Gold faithful to observe the Mountaineers before the 2012 campaign begins in earnest in August. It will be the 13th of 15 spring practices allowed by the NCAA and is expected to be conducted in full pads. Extensive 11-on-11 periods are likely to be included in the workout.
Admission to Saturday’s practice is FREE. Fans can enter the stadium through the west gates and seating will be limited to the west stands. Restrooms will be available but concession stands will not be open.
Following the open practice, fans are encouraged to remain on campus to support other Mountaineer teams in action at home on Saturday. Appalachian baseball hosts Oakland for a doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium (located behind the Broyhill Events Center) and women’s tennis takes on Western Carolina in a pivotal Southern Conference match at 1:30 p.m. at the ASU Tennis Courts (located directly behind the west side of Kidd Brewer Stadium).
