Red Tornadoes win NW3A/4A Opener PDF Print

The Hickory High men's golf team picked up right where it left off last season. The Red Tornadoes bested the field by three shots and staved off Alexander Central and Hibriten to win the first

Northwestern 3A/4A Conference meet of the season at the Catawba Country Club in Hickory, N.C. The Red Tornadoes had a team score of 302; Alexander Central finished second with a 305; Hibriten finished third with a 306. Watauga finished seventh with a 343. Fred T. Foard, the host school, finished sixth with a 328.
Alex Rhyne of Alexander Central was the leading medalist as he shot a two-under par 68 on the par 70 course. Austin Northern and Cameron Taylor paced Watauga as he man fired an 82. Troy McNeil had an 89. The Pioneers travel to Orchards Hill Country Club next Monday. South Caldwell will host the meet.
